Jen’s Story

He was a man, 19, who was friends with a family who was taking care of me. I had a bad family situation and he saw I was in a vulnerable position. He started to groom me by sending me gifts and telling me he got a message from God that we were soulmates. I wasn’t attracted to him at first, but I was 12 and looking to be loved. I eventually gave in and believed he genuinely loved me. He molested me for 2 years. The word got out in the community that we were “dating”. He then told me he “was told by god we needed a separation period to test our love”. 

He reached out to me again right before I turned 18. 

I ended up dating him, hoping that it would justify what happened when I was young, but in the back of my mind, I knew he was a predator. We broke up and 5 years later, 10+ after being molested, I’m charging him.
