FOUNDATIONAL PROGRAMMING

The curation and donation of Courage Totes was the pilot program of Nora & Co., giving birth to our tagline: walk with dignity. From its inception, our mission centers a survivor’s walk out of the hospital, redeeming a survivor’s sense of dignity as they walk these hallways and return to their lives post-trauma.

THE FULL PACKAGE

  • Nora & Co. provides the Take Courage tote bag, a new t-shirt designed by a survivor along with a hand written note, a pair of shorts, a customized journal and pen, a toiletry bag, carefully curated Spotify playlists, and resource guides to ensure each survivor is immediately connected to a local support system.

  • We rely on Hosts and their guests to provide the Fresh Start kit in each Courage Tote, including: underwear, a comfy lounge bra, a comb, deodorant, feminine products, tissues, chapstick, a hair tie, and a pack of gum. DESIGNED BY SURVIVORS

Each Courage Tote includes a t-shirt designed by a survivor of sexual violence along with a handwritten note from the designer to the new survivor. The artwork on each shirt reflects a unique path to healing, passed from one survivor to the next. Including these personal touches reassures new survivors they were thought of before there was ever a need and uniquely cared for by a support system of other women who have walked in their shoes, ready to travel the road to healing alongside them.

THE DIGNITY OF WORK

We partner with Survivors Alliance for Growth and Employment (SAGE) to support our fulfillment and screen printing needs for each Courage Tote. SAGE provides employment opportunities, mentorship, and job training for survivors of human trafficking and sexual trauma. Our partnership provides the opportunity to empower survivors on both the giving and receiving end of each tote’s journey.
